The AMEX Platinum Card from American Express is a charge card giving you the full benefits of a platinum card. Being a charge card you will not incur any interest rate for retail purchases but you'll be required to pay up in full at the end of every month. Qualification for the card is based on credit worthiness, income requirements and other checks to be carried out by American Express, the card issuers.
If you enjoy close attention and love the celebrity lifestyle then this card is perfect for you. With credit given you can purchase anything from a brand new card to a simple dinner at a roadside restaurant.
Are you a frequent traveller? As cardholder you automatically participate in Ascent, a Membership Rewards program. You'll earn 1.5 points for each dollar spent with a yearly cap of $200,000. Once exceeded the earning rate reverts to a point per dollar. With Membership Rewards you can redeem points for air travel, transfer points to frequent flyer programs with partner airlines or transfer points to a family member or friend using the Points Gifting service.
Through a distinct partnership with airlines including Air Canada, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and Air Pacific you can travel in comfort and enjoy discounts of up to 30% when travelling to selected destinations. And just for being a platinum cardholder you'll receive a complimentary Qantas economy return flight ticket to domestic locations in Australia. Perhaps you are too busy to book a flight, call the Platinum Travel Service team to book travel arrangements on your behalf. Priority Pass gets you access to more than 500 VIP lounges across 90 countries including Australia.
Additional features include overseas and domestic travel insurance, 24/7 personal concierge service, Roadside and Home Assistance and customer support.
An end of year summary report will help reconcile your expenses for record purchase. Items are categorized by month and purchase category giving you a solid idea on the period expenses you made throughout the year were charged to your account.
The AMEX Platinum Card charges a $900 annual fee. Cardholders may choose to order additional cards for family and friends.
