ANZ which stands for Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited was founded in 1835. The company originally began operations in London under the name Bank of Australasia. The Bank of Australasia merged with Union Bank of Australia in 1951 to become ANZ bank which later merged with the English, Scottish, and Australian Bank Limited to form Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited. The bank moved its operation to Australia and got incorporated in 1977. ANZ is known for its personal and corporate banking services.
