Balance transfers are ideal for individuals, for example, those having poor credit ratings looking to take advantage of improved credit and rates on competing credit cards. Card applicants have the opportunity to transfer balance from a current card to the one being applied for during the application process. Balance transfers incur a fixed transaction fee which is a percentage of the transaction involved. If the transfer goes through, the member is subject to incur interest rates sometimes higher than interest charged on purchases. A number of credit cards offering an introductory APR period may include balance transfers so you wouldn't incur interest on these transactions. The following credit cards have a balance transfer feature so you don't have to carry more credit cards than you need. Balance transfers listed below are reserved for the Australian market.
