The HSBC Credit Card is a basic credit card that features numerous card benefits you would find in an everyday card. Qualifying for this card requires a solid credit history and average to excellent credit rating. Current HSBC customers may qualify to obtain selective preferences during the selection process. One of the major reasons you'd want a card in this category is its simplicity.

With no exorbitant interest rates or card fees to worry about, cardholders can focus on the goal at hand. Those in debt may transfer outstanding balances on high interest accounts to partake in a zero percent introductory apr period applied towards balance transfers.

The card offers a 55 days interest free period on purchase transactions. These days do not cover balance transfers and cash advances, and cardholders who carry over balance from previous monthly cycles. Balance transfers enjoy low rate over a midterm period. After this balance transfers will incur interest at a rate equaling cash advances. In the mean time, cardholders will earn flexible interest on cash advances and purchase transfers (except they pay in full).

HSBC's Home & Away privilege program grants automatic access to discounts on shopping, travel, accommodation including other purchase categories with participating retailers. As part of benefits, cardholders who spend more than $500 during each of the first three months of card membership will get $50 cashback.

Qualified spending excluded card fees, interest payments, balance transfers and cash advances.

Additional benefits such as online account management, emergency card replacement, customer support, online bill pay, and fraud protection are also available at no extra cost. Visa's zero fraud liability program ensures cardholders are insured against fraudulent transactions involving their accounts.

HSBC Credit Card does not charge an annual fee. It is a cost saving credit card for the average individual looking to use a credit card for day-to-day expenses. The card comes on the Visa network with access to millions of merchants and retailers who access the Visa network brand. It is also widely accepted online and can be used for phone/mail-in purchases.

This card is for the Australian market.
